Communicate PLC has continued its support of the Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team with another annual donation.
The donated funds will help the team to purchase much needed vital emergency equipment.
Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue team provides search, rescue and event cover across the North Yorkshire Moors and further afield. The team of volunteers face around eighty incidents a year and rely solely on donations and sponsorship to provide much-needed emergency support.
Communicate provides essential services to the team with their Strongest Signal SIM (SSS) service, which offers mobile communications to clients in poor signal areas. The SSS roams the available networks and locks onto the strongest signal, giving users access in difficult to reach areas. The service is invaluable to Scarborough and Ryedale’s Mountain Rescue team who constantly work within poor signal areas, saving essential time and resources.
Ian Hugill, Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team’s Incident Controller and Public Relations Officer, said: “We are very pleased to receive further support from Communicate this year. The funds will enable us to update equipment and kit which is a necessity for the rescue team. We have experienced more incidents than ever this year and Communicate’s donation will be a huge help towards purchasing new equipment to deliver our ever-demanding workload.”
Danielle McLeod, Communicate PLC’s Telecoms Commercial Manager said: “We are proud to support SRMRT. The team, who are all volunteers, continue to give up their personal time to provide an invaluable service to those in and around North Yorkshire 365 days a year. Working with the team has given us an insight into the varied tasks the team undertake."
Tony Snaith, CEO of Communicate PLC, said: “The work that Scarborough and Ryedale provide is invaluable for visitors to the region and the local community and we are pleased to continue supporting the team for another year.”
